Finding Pattern
Hi,

i need some help regarding finding a pattern in files inside a direstory.

i have these files
Code:
abc123.txt
cemj111.txt
ckmem.txt
cmick.txt
crnnc.txt
montt.txt
xyz123.txt
dfd123.txt
cvv123.txt

i need to find the files with name "*123.txt" which does not contain a perticular pattern.
lets say all the files contain some country name and i want to find the file "*123.txt" where india is not present.

Are you looking for something like this?
Code:
grep "123.txt" inputfile | grep -v "abc123"

This will show all lines with "123.txt" except for the one with "abc123".

Well, in writing the script, you can find all the needed information in the replies of your previous threads... What to do:
write a script that will use a loop using the *123.txt files as VARIABLE to grep -v india ...
Or create a list of *123.txt files, subtract those containing the word india...
