rsync file list help

Is it possible to make rsync output a list of all the files transferred to a separate text file? If so how?

I wondered if the --write-batch=FILE optionis what I need

Thanks

I'll take a guess that you missed some of the output of
Code:
rsync --help

or
Code:
man rsync

As you can see from the excerpt from the man pages, I suspect this is not what you want
Code:
       --write-batch=FILE
Record a file that can later be applied to another identical destination with --read-batch. See the "BATCH MODE"
section for details, and also the --only-write-batch option.

I suspect what you actually want to use is --itemize-changes combined with --log-file=FILE if you want to preserve what happened. Where FILE is the /path/of/choice/to/log-file

Code:
        -i, --itemize-changes output a change-summary for all updates
--out-format=FORMAT output updates using the specified FORMAT
--log-file=FILE log what we're doing to the specified FILE
--log-file-format=FMT log updates using the specified FMT

Hope that helps.

PS. It helps a lot when one takes the time to RTFM.
