Question how to make script automated
if i have a script called test.sh

file1=$(ls -l|awk '{print $9 $1}')
awk ' /date_of_selling:/ { print $6 ":" &9 }'  /$file1 >> data.txt


if i wanna this script to run automatically every day at 8 am Smilie

not in the script , does i need to write it every day or it will be automatically work every day ?

Have a glance at section 5 of the crontab manual page. It's all explained there.

"cron" runs in the "background", if that's what your other point eludes to.

BASH is a shell. awk and ls have nothing to do with BASH. With the exception of the construct $(....), nothing you've written is shell-dependent.
