Easy question about awk gsub

How does one escape the left bracket in awk?

For example:

Code:

| awk 'gsub ("[", ""); {print}'


Gives this:

awk: nonterminated character class [
 source line number 1
 context is
        gsub ("[", >>>  "") <<<

I'm sure it's pretty simple, I'm just a noob.

awk 'gsub ("\\[", ""); {print}'

OR

awk 'gsub ("[[]", ""); {print}'

OR

awk 'gsub (/[[]/, ""); {print}'
