How to check the system model in linux?

is there any way to check what model and made is the linux box from command line

like - it is virtual server or is it a physical manchine then what made it is

dmidecode will provide make and model of the motherboard. It will provide "System Information" such as Manufacturer, Product Name, Serial Number, etc. if the manufacturer has bothered to input it.

Using Linux can be an amusing reveal of how little they do sometimes Smilie defaults, blanks, holes, and CHANGEME's left in places they'd never be noticed in Windows..
