awk help

HI ,

I am trying to validate the source files, before loading them. The validation I am doing is checking the no of columns in the file should be proper, all the source files should have 8 columns, if any source file has less than 8 columns, I have to move the improper source files to a directory called invalid source files.

I started with the below awk, but I am not sure how to move the files with improper columns to a different directory.

Code:
awk '{if(NF < 8) {print "Invalid File"} else {print $0}' 1.csv

Can any body suggest how can I do this.

Regards,
Deepti

$awk '{if(NF < 8) {print "mv " FILENAME " /tmp/"; exit} else {print $0}}' 1.csv | sh

Hi , Thanks for your quick response.

I have modified the code for checking all the .csv files for proper file format.

Code:
find /edw/data/ -name '*.csv' | while read FILENAME
do
awk -F, '{if(NF < 8) {print "mv " FILENAME " /edw/data/incorrect/"; exit}}'
< "$FILENAME" > | sh
done

I am getting the below error, where am I doing it wrong.

Code:
 Error
syntax error near unexpected token `|'
