I am not sure of what you are trying to do, but it seems like a misunderstanding on how a scheduler works: You planify a job to run (a batch that is...), generally when you are occupied with other things to do... or out...
So the cron is a dumb operator that knows nothing more than what is in your job except it default path: /bin:/usr/bin, and if havent fixed a shell in your script then it is going to use the default (gen /bin/sh). Therefore if you have in your script fancy commands dont forget to give the path and set all the needed environment.
Being dumb, you cant expect the job to display to STDOUT hoping it will display on your screen...
So remember to redirect any output to a file WHERE YOU have access in RW.
All this to say that you can write a script that will execute well when You run it (interactive shell with env set...) but may not when called by cron...
