What shell is the "man " for
I typed "man if" in both TC shell and Bash and I got the exactly same information.
What shell is the command "man" for , anyway?

man usually stands for manual. To find out more information about a command you can type: "man ifconfig" for example. This will display lots of into about ifconfig. You can use it most all shells.

And to see what man is all about

$ man man

You can also see the differences for built-in commands (such as 'if' ) but you have to look in each man page for each shell

$ man ksh

$ man bash

$ man sh
# 4
