To Add the Name of the file in the file content
Hi Guys,

I like to add the Filename to the first line of the file.

For an example, i like to add A.txt as the first line in the file A.txt.

Somebody help me with this..

Hi,

Try next 'perl' code. It doesn't work if file is zero size.

If you want to modify the original (infile) file but keep a backup (infile.bak).
Code:
$ perl -i.bak -pe 's/^/$ARGV\n/ if $. == 1' infile

If you want to modify the original file without backup.
Code:
$ perl -i -pe 's/^/$ARGV\n/ if $. == 1' infile
