Data Simple grep question

I hope someone can help me.

I have a folder e.g. /opt/application

Under that are many sub folders e.g.

Folder1
Folder2
Folder3
Folder4
Folder5
Folder6

etc

In some of these fodlers (not all of them) is a file called errors.log

I need to run a grep that will start at folder level /opt/application and search through all those folders but just search files called errors.log

I used the -R to go through the folders but it searches all files, i only want to search errors.log file. PS I will not know which subfolders have the errors.log file at the time, it varies so its easier to start from the top and use -R but only want errors.log files. Please help.

grep only the errors.log

I would suggest you to combine find command, and grep.

Code:
find /opt/application -name 'errors.log' -exec grep "texttosearch" {} \;

So this will search only in the errors.log file.

Brilliant, worked perfectly. Im doing my best to learn this stuff but it would be great if you could explain what {} \; is supposed to do?
