Script not running through Cronjob

Hi,

I have a .ksh script which updates the database. The script is running fine manually but it is not running through cron.All the file permissions are fine.
The script contents are as below:

#!/usr/bin/ksh
ddate=`date +%Y%m%d`
echo $ddate
nohup sqlplus crm/crm @db_state_sync.sql >> db_state_sync_$ddate.log

The sql file contents which it calls internally has DB update queries where direct parameter values are used.No env variables being used.

Please help.

Thanks
Shivangi

For starts, the script probably does not have env variables like ORACLE_HOME defined - I would assume. You will have to exactly duplicate the command line environment

There is a lot more to do to get this to work.
First set and export $ORACLE_HOME .
Then ensure that sqlplus can be found in $PATH
PATH=${PATH}:${ORACLE_HOME}/bin; export PATH

In addition. All commands or files referred to in the cron will need absolute paths. It would help to know what user owns the cron.
Absolutely no chance with this command:
Quote:
nohup sqlplus crm/crm @db_state_sync.sql >> db_state_sync_$ddate.log
Needs absolute paths for the programs. Without seeing the programs, they may need adjustment if they call other programs.
