Hi All,

When i put top command in unix i am able to see PID,User,PR,NI,RES etc..

I need to get only the %CPU and %MEM column from the top command output...


can anyone help me out?SmilieSmilie

There are a lot of versions of "top". The usual issue is how to get "top" to display what you want and then to stop automatically so you can process the output.

What Operating System and version you you have?
What Shell do you use?

What comman do you type at the command line to invoke "top" and display what you want to see and which causes "top" to finish without anybody typing something at the keyboard?
What does the output look like from your "top".

Is it possible to combine multiple CPU to act as a single CPU on the same server?

We have a single threaded application which is restricted by CPU usage even though there are multiple CPUs on the server, hence leading to significant performance issues. Is it possible to merge / combine multiple CPUs at OS level so it appear as a single CPU for the application? (6 Replies)
