Board2;96;60;35;58.3;55;0;0.0
Board3;92;60;60;100.0;60;60;100.0

Used awk script:
Code:
#!/bin/awk -f
BEGIN {
        FS = ";";
        printf ("        Device          |            IPMB0-A              |             IPMB0-B             \n");
        printf ("Board      Address      |Sent      SentErr      %Err      |Sent      SentErr      %Err      \n");
        printf ("============================================================================================\n");
}
{
        printf ("%-11s%-14s%-10s%-13s%-11s%-10s%-13s%-11s\n", $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $6, $7, $8)
}

Used command:
Code:
#awk -f awkfile test.log

Current O/P:
Code:
       Device          |            IPMB0-A              |             IPMB0-B
Board      Address      |Sent      SentErr      %Errr      |Sent      SentErr      %Errr
============================================================================================
Board1     9a            60        36           60.0       60        0            0.0

Board2     96            60        35           58.3       55        0            0.0

Board      Address      |Sent      SentErr      %Errr     |Sent      SentErr      %Errr
============================================================================================
Board1     9a           |60        36           60.0      |60        0            0.0

Board2     96           |60        35           58.3      |55        0            0.0

Board3     92           |60        60           100.0     |60        60           100.0

I want to add the "|" sign before the $3 and $6 fields, what shall i modify in my command/script?

Thanks in advance

Try with this one
Code:
#!/bin/awk -f
BEGIN {
        FS = ";";
        printf ("        Device          |            IPMB0-A              |             IPMB0-B             \n");
        printf ("Board      Address      |Sent      SentErr      %Err      |Sent      SentErr      %Err      \n");
        printf ("============================================================================================\n");
}
{
        printf ("%-11s%-14s|%-10s%-13s%-11s|%-10s%-13s%-11s\n", $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $6, $7, $8)
}
