Date stopped changing on Unix server

Hi,

I don't have a lot of info, so I'm sure this is a long shot. But figured I'd check to see if this issue rings a bell with anyone.

Two weeks ago a Unix server stopped updating the date. So everyday it shows the same system time. It's been manually changed to the correct date, but then it doesn't change again.

Any thoughts?

Again, I know this isn't much info to go on, so I'm not expecting a miracle. If I can find out more info, I'll post it.

Thanks for any input.

Quick check.
Can you paste these enquires onto a command line prompt and post the result:
Code:
type date
date;sleep 1;date;sleep 1;date

Please post some basic background:
Make and model of the computer?
Approximate age of the computer?
Has the computer been powered down recently?
Output from the enquiry commands:
Quote:
uname -a
echo $SHELL
