Lightbulb now it's working.....

..
while read input1
do
case $input1 in
0) kill -9 0;;
1) echo "#!/bin/sh\n\n\n\n\n" >ftp1
sed -e '2s/^/#cachedat/' <ftp1 >ftp2
sed -e '3s/^/user: pw@host/' <ftp2 >ftp1
sed -e '4s/^/put file/' <ftp1 >ftp2
sed -e '5s/^/quit/' <ftp2 >ftp1
sed -e '6s/^/echo "bye"/' <ftp1 >ftp2
rm ftp1
chmod 777 ftp2
./ftp2
break
;;
*) echo "retry"
;;
esac
done
..
by the way, thx to all, but << isn't working

Your original here document is not working because the here document terminator cannot have whitespace before it. You'd need to code it thusly...

Code:
.
.
     case $reply1 in
          1)    ftp foo@bar.com << EOF
                    ls
                    whatever
                    bye
EOF
                  ;;
           *)    ;;
      esac
.
.

See where the document terminator is?!

Within bash, you can use <<-EOF to tell bash to ignore any leading tabs in the here document terminator (note the "-").

Cheers

Error

thx, now it's working really fine.

I just did not understand what you really mean, also I am not speaking english as well....but now I've checked it. Put the end of the here document in front of the line without any spacefolders.

you can also make a function like...

func ()
{
USER=$1
PWD=$2
HOST=$3
ftp $1 $2 @$3 << EOF
put file
quit
EOF
}

....
echo "user:\c"
read USER1
echo "pwd:\c"
read PWD1
echo "host:\c"
read HOST1
func $USER1 $PWD1 $HOST1
...
