How To Give Input to the Login Process through another process which is already running in the background???

I mean suppose I have a process (shell script) which I want to run in background and as soon as i execute login command the background process should supply username and password so instead of waiting for user to enter username and password from keyboard, the i/p should be taken from process runnig in background.

Can anyone tell me how is it possible? Is there any way for it??

How the script code (background process) will be??

I dont see how this would work unless you provided the login name or how would the system know what password to use?

Sure you can tie a script to the execution of the login function. Seems rather impractical to me to do this. Why, if you can login already, would you want a program to log you in?

Also, it is a big security hole to store passwords on a system to use in a script.

Actually I am supposed to automate this thing, since I am working on the project in which I have got the task to automate all the utilities with all the options so I want this.

I can use perl script or Shell script for this.

u can use rlogin
I know u may want to logon to the same machine but rlogin works anyway

so create the .rhosts file

but my purpose is to check functionality of login utility itself not rlogin.

In short, I am automating all utilities like ls,pwd .. etc

Steps are:

1) I am creating a shell script to run the utility.
2) collect the result in file.
3) and check the result with benchmark result.

so that i will come to know whether the function implemented by me in my SFU 4.0 are correct or not?

Can you tell me how to write something into device file of keyboard?
Since everything is treated as file in unix can we write something into device file of keyboard. If this is possible then the query can be solved.

I don't want2login utility to stop requesting for username and password.. Help me please..
