Same way as in your OP.

mount -o loop filename.img /path/to/mountpoint

you're not running on cygwin, are you? Whatever program you used to create the zip file did so in a really weird way, though it worked in the end.
Older versions of WinZip and some other zippers stored filenames using backslashes as directory separators.

Looks like you are copying a zipped file (myimage.zip) instead of the intended myimage.img. That is probably why the archive mounter comes into play when you try to mount it.

Nah, I just asked him to zip it and upload it. The attachment thing here only accepts certain extensions.

It worked now, thanks a lot guys. By the way the reason for the weird zipping is because I zipped it on windows (IZArc). My PC has a network adapter which Linux doesn't have a driver for, so I use Windows for internet until I could do better.

ok guys,
here's the thing that method worked but it apparently was not the method I'm suppose to be using. Apparently you have to make the image look like a floppy disk. The method I'm suppose to be using is this:
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=fdimage.img bs=512 count=2880
losetup /dev/loop0 fdimage.img
mke2fs /dev/loop0
mount /dev/loop0 -o loop /mnt/fda
chmod 777 /mnt/fda
cp -aR fdsource/* /mnt/fda
umount /mnt/fda

and as is expected, it doesn't work
I get an error message saying, "loop0 was not found in /etc/ftsab or in /etc/mtab", when I try executing the forth command.

Works absolutely fine for me. Are you running it as root?

Yes, I'm using root, and I'm still getting the error.
