Script with an argument
I have a script named abc.sh and another script ab.sh
I execute one as:
./abc.sh
and another ./ab start
that is with an argument , so wanted to know what is this start a file or something else?

You have to look inside ab.sh to find out. ./ab is not the same as ./ab.sh by the way.

maybe check your script if there is

The parameter "start" is not a magic parameter. It is just an example of a value of $1 supplied to a script. The script would then test for the value of $1 and take appropriate action like start (or stop) a service.
It is however a convention in system start/stop scripts (see "man rc") to use the parameter values "start" and "stop".
There is a further convention with system start/stop scripts that they should fail if there is no parameter supplied at all.

Hi, If not running a shell script file in current shell (. ./fileName) then $0 represents the executable file name.
