Network Copying application directory from one unix box to another

Hi , if I copy an application directory (with all its subdirectories) from one unix box to another (suppose same version), will that application work in the 2nd unix box?

Maybe. But. That assumes the following is true:

1. same version UNIX, with identical run-time libraries
2. LD_LIBRARY_PATH (or SHLIB_PATH on HPUX) points to same libraries as on the original
3. The working directories for the app are named the same and have the same structure
4. There are no hard-coded values like hostnames in the code
5. All user accounts the app expects exist and have the same home directory names and structures.
6. init files or paramter files exist, have same names and live in the same directories as original
