what is the 1st step into unix sun solaris?

Dear all,
recently, i thought about use UNIX.but i really ignore what to do?
So KINDLY help:
1-suggest a good material to study (SCSAS)
2-any simulation/emulation to use?

You can put cygwin on your PC and have very UNIX-like tools inside windows, or load a LINUX from CD, like ubuntu, in a big windows file as an alternative boot, or both.

Start with UNIX and ksh or bash shell tutorials, of which the web has many. Learn to use man here and on cygwin/LINUX. Develop a few simple mental pictures and you are way past the book reading stage.
