Can this be done

I am new to the unix environment. I use a unix based program at work. This program is ran on a fairly large network. The admin doesn't have direct access to the server(its a specialized server that only runs this unix database program) it runs on but has admin priviledges. Now for the ?

Can a admin remap the keyboard keys of an individual user from a remote location???? For example the user is in a building logged in, using the program. The admin is in another building miles away on the same network. Is this a question that is soley dependent on the features in the proggy?? If it is then, it is possible for this to happen????

Thanks for the info.

You can change the charmap and the locale at login, by changing the .profile (.cshrc or .bashrc) file in the users login directory. A sysadmin cannot change it on the fly for an already logged in user. The user will have to log out, then back in.

Try for starters:

man locale
