Do you know a standard UNIX app that use the mandatory lock if it have been set on the file?
Thanks!

I was talking of the "file permission kludge" (sorry, translation are sometimes difficults). I never used it so far but I understand from the man page that some applications can use this file permission (if exists) to lock file while using it. Is it correct?

Anyway thanks for the code, I'm almost certain I will use it one day.
Thanks.

You are right I tought the file kludge (set using the permissions) was responsible for locking. It's clear now.
Many thanks.
