python and crontab

Hi all,

I have a cron job defined in my crontab to execute once every day. This works perfectly fine on my local installation. However for some reason the job never runs on the actual server.

Below are my crontab entires in my local crontab and server crontab respectively

0 10 * * * cd /home/xylo/workspace/trackeverycoin && python cron.py daily

0 10 * * * cd /home/tonolab/webapps/tono_apps/myproject && python2.6 cron.py daily

I've more than one python version on the server.

I have permissions to execute the cron on the server and i've tested it out by running simple unix commands like rm file etc to check.

Also if i run : python2.6 cron.py daily, manually on the server from the terminal it works.

Can anyone suggest what might be amiss here? Thanks in advance.

When you work interactively, you have set your needed environment..., it is not the case using cron, you either have the choice of doing so by setting in a script with the commands you want to execute or give full path.

The full path works! Thanks Smilie
