List files/dirs alphabetically case sensitive - AaBbCc?

Hi there,

im trying to list some dirs/files alphabetically (case sensitive) like in windows:
Code:
Folder_1
folder_2
Folder 1
Folder 2
folder 3
A.txt
a 1.txt
a 2.txt
B.txt
...

i tried ls, sort, ls and sort but cant get it to work?

Is this actually possible??

You don't have to use extra tools, ls and company usually honor the current language settings:
Code:
$ LANG=C ls -l
total 4
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 Aug 3 15:43 A_test
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 Aug 3 15:44 B_Test
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 Aug 3 15:43 B_test
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 Aug 3 15:43 a_test
drwxr-xr-x 2 pludi users 4096 Aug 3 15:45 b_Test
$ LANG=en_US ls -l
total 4
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 2010-08-03 15:43 a_test
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 2010-08-03 15:43 A_test
drwxr-xr-x 2 pludi users 4096 2010-08-03 15:45 b_Test
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 2010-08-03 15:43 B_test
-rw-r--r-- 1 pludi users 0 2010-08-03 15:44 B_Test

Note that not all installations, especially non-Linux have the sort settings for different languages installed.

seems this is not installed. i use a media player. perhaps it is missing these language packs??

when i use

Code:
bash-3.00$ ls | sort -fr
-sh: bash-3.00$: not found

when using

Code:
ls | sort -fr

i see first caps big and at the end small ones...like before??

perhaps this is not possible on the player?!
