Install path... sort of
Howdy, I've got ma an alphaserver ds20e (running what i believe to be Tru64 UNIX 4.0F) and i was wondering where the binaries and whatnot go when you install something (the file path), see i've got to install something but it's not wanting to go by conventioal means so i'm going to have to place it in there, i also gather that there is a bit of a script i'll have to write??? any help would be rather usefull seing as i am veritabbly in the dark when it comes to UNIX

download to /usr/src
unpack
cd to new directory.
./configure
./make
./make install

so USR/src is like the unix equivalent of programfiles in windows?

Can't install rpm package with --prefix in new path.Error: package is not relocatable
