Question Unix IMAP e-mail via Outlook showing +10 hours

Multiple users at my work are connecting to a UNIX IMAP e-
mail server via Outlook 2003 that is creating a small
problem. Random new e-mails repeat themselves up to 3
times with an additional 10 hours added to them of when the original arrived.

i.e Original e-mail marked arrived at 10:00am will
have a repeated e-mail downloaded to the inbox a few minutes later as 8pm.

The repeated e-mails always show +10 hour to
the original e-mail arrival time and only minutes after downloading the original e-mail (synchronizing is what really happens when I say downloading as we all know about IMAP).

The 10 hours might be related to the servers and pc's set to +10 Eastern standard time with the server/outlook synching and adding another 10 hours.

Any solution to fix this problem apart from changing to a
different e-mail client such as Eudora which hasn't had
this problem (Unix admin said that it was Outlook and not the server at fault without even looking into the problem)?

I'm not a Unix person (Windows is my forte) so any solution for my non caring unix admin or for me if it is Outlook would be great.

Thanks.
