alias in ksh

Hi all,

I want to create my own set of alias, possibly place them on a script that I can run manually as a script. I've placed the sequence of alias commands in a file then I logoff and login and run the script manually. That does not seem to work, can anyone please advise how to get this work or if it possible or not?

I do not want to change the .profile or .kshrc file since those files are being shared and used by other scripts and the UNIX account that am using and don't want to upset the SA ... :-)

We are essentually "sharing" the same login except that I want to create my own set of alias to use.

On a C-shell, I run the source command but I can't seem to find a similar command for Korn shell. I've been Googling for hours and so far had tried alias -x which is the suggestion from one link but does not work either.

Any assistance will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

"Source" the script like:
Code:
. /yourdir/scriptname

Hi Franklin,

Thanks ... that works alright ...

I thought I did try that and it didn't work ... probably need to get some coffee and banged my head on my desk ... better yet, bury my head on the sand for awhile maybe ... Smilie
