RCP Failure

RCP Failure
I HAVE A PERL SCRIPT WHICH RCP files from one server to another. The script is not having any issues for years and it is running for more than 3 years . Last week it had failed with error "Command timed out " error. Please help me out

Well, start thinking about this logically. What does "Command timed out" mean? Is it coming from the script, or from some command in the script? Can you RCP the files manually? If so, then either something in the script has changed, or something the script depends on has changed. If not, then maybe it has nothing to do with the script. It could be a routing problem, or an interface problem, or any number of networking problems.

Just saying that "it doesn't work" isn't a good way to get help with issues like this. You should provide details about what exactly is going on, and let everyone know what you've tried so they can start ruling things out.

Sorry for not providing the earlier. I have tried to manually rcp the files and it is successful. The script was running fine and only the rcp part in the script has thrown this error. Also i believe that no modifcation has been doen to script recently. Will the file size that is getting rcp'ed have an impact on this.

PLease advise
