hi all,

i want to get all "tri" file's coloumns and redirect to files that a1,a2 ...a8
i mean, there will be first coloumn in a1,second column in a2 ...

But when i run this code , it take error.
Error is :

awk '{syntax error The source line is 5.
The error context is
cat tri | >>> print <<< ${$x} > a$t
awk: The statement cannot be correctly parsed.
The source line is 5.

Code:

t=1
for (x = 1; x<= 8; x++)
{
cat tri | print ${$x} > a$t
t++
}
print t
}'

How can i success ?

you want column #3 to go to file name: a3, for example, column 4 to a4..., etc.
