UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hi evreybody

In my program i work with file compressed with 7zip
I need to decompress these file
I've red the man page of p7zip which is very short (maybe too short)

Is there another program to work whit 7zip files

I need options like
redirect output (p7zip decompress file in the current directory)
maybe there is a way to work with 7zip file with the zip program (which has a lot of usefull options)

Not sure but you could try gzip or pax. pax has a -s flag to substitute paths so you could just exchange the original path vs the new path. But not sure if those formats are compatible.
