Sorry, I don't really understand what I can really do with this kind of command.

Code:
find -type f -exec touch {} \;

Can you explain me more in details for my case for exemple?

Do not execute the command suggested by vivekraj it will wreck the timestamps on all the files.

pludi is suggesting creating a new file with a unique name using the unix "touch" command just to have a file with a known timestamp to refer to in a "find -newer" construct.

Ok, so I create an empty file using:

touch data -t MMDDHHMMYY

But how can I compare this file (with the command -newer) with the other files "data", whereas they are in other subdirectories?

Forget what I said, I thought the command "-newer file" would return the most recent file "file".
But I don't know how the command touch would help me in my script actually. I want to write a general script to run at any time, and without knowing when the files have been created.
