I installed Aquamacs (Emacs for OSX) and found it OK; but I prefer TextWangler. The main reason is that TextWrangler has a built in secure FTP interface, so you can open, save, delete, etc. files on remote servers. For me this is one of the most important functions in a graphical editor.
For example, I can open TextWrangler and then open a file on a remote server. When the file is open, it has great syntax highlighting. I can make changes and save the file locally or remotely.
I wish that Notepad++ had this feature for XP....
