To run a job continous (24x7)

Hi All,

I have a job. I need to create a shell script which will execute that job continously i.e 24x7.

Please help me in writing this script.

Thanks,

If it really has to run all the time, without interruption, then write yourself a small, specialized daemon and start it with the system using an init-script.

Hi Pludi,

Thanks for your suggestion. Can you please provide me a sample script for that.

This will be really useful to me.

Thanks,

Of course
Code:
#!/bin/sh
(
while /bin/true
do
    sleep 30
done
) &

Just add your own code, initialization, some error checking, and a sane way to exit (by using trap or something).
