mailx and mail list help - newbie qustion

I have a basic question - how do I create and then use a mail list to be able to send a mailx email to multiple recipients.

I assume I create a test file using vi, containing the email addresses - but what is the format - are the addresses separated by ";", or by spaces, ....???

Is there a naming convention to save the mail list ?
and finally, how do I use this in the mailx command.

I have searched the INTRO to UNIX textbook we have, searched this forum, and read the man command for mailx and can't seem to find this info.

Thanks for any help

Sorry, I had to remove your email address. Answers to questions should stay in the forums; it's for the benefit of anyone with a similar problem in the future.
