modprobe spi_bitbang results in error messages

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the voyage linux distribution.

I've been busy to include a CAN driver, which uses the SPI bus to communicate.

While I was busy debugging the code, everything worked fine while performing a modprobe of the SPI driver to get it all running.

But the suddenly something went wrong: while performing a modprobe of my spi driver (which uses the spi_bitbang.ko kernel module) I see the message "spi_bitbang: Unknown symbol: spi_unregister_master" and "spi_bitbang: Unknown symbol: spi_register_master".

In my .config file the definition CONFIG_SPI is set to y and SPI_CONFIG_MASTER is also set to y.

The file spi.c is compiled to an object file and when I check the vmlinux.o file in my source directory, the function can be found.

However, still I'm seeing these messages while trying to start the spi driver.

So it worked and suddenly it stopped working.

Does anybody know what can be the cause of this problem?

Regards,
Nico
