A Slight Variation
Thanks. I really appreciate your help. A slight variation. Can I display only that part of the files that is updated in last 10 mins and run some script?

Hello ,
in that case you would have to backup the files regularly( I would say cron ) . then check against the backup file by 'diff' and update the backup file(either using some script or the cron should be more frequent to take care of this).

Code:
 find . -maxdepth 1 -iname "*.txt" -exec bash -c 'diff "$1" "${1}.bak";cp "${1}" "${1}.bak";' _ {} \;

This will print the differences and update the backup file.
