under solaris if you man a command at the bottom of the man page it will tell you the package name it is apart of.

so.... try man apmd and see if the package name is somewhere in there.

you can also stop that daemon from starting by commenting it out of the inittab or /etc/rc2.d scripts.

my guess is it will be started from inittab. comments are mostlikely a : not a # for the inittab file.

You must start wth your motherboard BIOS settings. Do you know how to enter your motherboard configuration tool? What mother board and BIOS are you using?
