what happens if the script doesn't get Y,y,N, or n? Will it just loop back up and ask the question again? I tried to get mine to give me another response to tell me my input was invalid, but ran into problems with it.
Whatever the script be, to me the answer lies with the person who writes it.
It all depends on the way you write the script, if you are using the while loop and looping for certain condition to be met, in your case it is Y, y, N, n, until that character is given you will loop forever,
if you are using "if" statements then if your condition in the if statement is not met, it will not get into the if part at all and execution will continue to the next step after if.
So all boils down to the way one write his/her script.
you are still not being very clear on what it is you are talking about. i can assume that you mean:
you want to get a yes or no input from a user, and if the user dosnt enter a y Y n or N then the script will loop until they do or until it is killed. whenever you are looking for a certain kind of input and if that input is not given, you can use a while loop to ensure that you recieve the correct input.
ex: (watch your syntax, im typing this very loosely.)
etc etc.
