Lightbulb Find
Can anybody please tell me what in the world this command does? find /home -mount \( -perm -4000 -o -perm -2000 -o -perm -2 \) -a \( -type f -o -type d \) -exec ls -lLabd {} \; 2> /dev/null

This is a SCO Unixware machine

This command looks into /home filesystem for files or directores "\( -type f -o -type d \)", with 2000 and 4000 permissions "\( -perm -4000 -o -perm -2000 -o -perm -2 \)", and exec the command ls with options -lLabd.

The command "2> /dev/null" send the errors to /dev/null.

And the -mount command restricts the search to the current filesystem.. apparently, a file might somehow point to another filesystem and the "find" command follows it by default.

But linuxpenguin is right.. the man page on "find" explains all the options in more detail! Smilie
