how do I stop memory leaks like some times. some apps crash and give me core crash errors in kde 3.1 and gnome crashes sometimes and yahoo chat app when I use the window shade and bring it back the app is still there but is blank so i have to a clt+alt+esc and reload the app again how to make it so i don't have to do this and some times the harddrive is blinking sold and i'm doing nothing and the cde freezez so i can't do any thing at all but just wait so see if it does any thing i use mandrake 9.1 on a p3 866 with 393mb or ram and a 60gb drive with cdrw 24x10x40 and a nvidia gforce 2 mx 400 card any help would be help ful big thanx guys

It's not unusual that the cause of so many problems may be the hardware... memory, mainly...
IBM has a very good document to help analyze software crashes on Linux, check it here http://www-106.ibm.com/developerwork...library/l-gdb/ . You should have at least little experience debugging crashes...
