Hi all,

What is the sed command use to combine line?
Example:
Below is an output after extracted from few commands
aaa
bbb
ccc
ddd
eee
fff
ggg

and i would like to combine all the line as shown below,
aaa,bbb,ccc,ddd,eee,fff

By the way, how can i interpret the meaning for every single switch that you apply...

if you use awk it will be more easy..

awk '{printf $0","}' filename

setting a label named a

Code:

/./

as long as there is a matching pattern ie. at least 1 character

{N;

get the next line

Code:

s/\n/,/g};

substitute the newline with a comma on the line globally

Code:

ta'

if substitution was succesful jump back to the label and do it again
