Cygwin X11 Packages

I see that I need these packages..

xorg-x11-base
xorg-x11-bin
xorg-x11-bin-dlls
xorg-x11-devel
xorg-x11-func
xorg-x11-fonts
xorg-x11-xwin
xorg-x11-etc

but in Cygwin 2.573 I do not see any of these under X11. Could someone tell me, do I have a wrong version of Cygwin or what?

The xorg-server, xinit and xorg-docs are the only packages I see that may be relevant, but not sure. I'm trying to get a seamless Unix feel but I realize the X11 packages are really needed for that. Please help.

Could someone point me in the right direction please? Are the xorg-server, xinit and xorg-docs the packages that I need? Thanks.

CygWin runs on a Windows workstation, the xorg-* packages would go on a Linux workstation, which are you trying to X display your application to?.

For windows. There are some commands that are not working such as sudo, clear and root. I read that in order to get everything working correct you need the xorg-x11 packages, none of which is listed shown on the Cygwin setup packages list.

Sounds like you really need a *nix installation, if it has to run on your Windows desktop then what about running OpenSolaris or Linux in VirtualBox or if not then how about Multi-Booting?

cygwin/x

I think I'm making this more complicated than it should be. I actually have Ubuntu 9.04 installed in my XP partition, on a Mac. I dont mind logging into Ubuntu to do my bash stuff but i'm primarily working in Windows. What I want out of Cygwin is the whole shebang from Ubuntu's terminal. Below is the packages I installed and now I got Cygwin/x and the rxvt native version but still no luck on having the full functionality of a linux terminal. Cygwin/x is actually pretty ugly looking too, is there a script package in there where it will add a gui for the background and fonts?

I'm downloading opensolaris and will try it out to see what it can do. Suck's that Cygwin can't do apt get, and other stuff.
