Linux Gos and windows 7

Hi,

I've 2 partitions with Linux (Gos) and Windows XP.
I would like to replace Windows XP with Windows 7 without affecting linux.

I need to use some applications only for Windows.

Is this easy to do ? Just with the installation CD of Windows 7 ?

thanks

I would suggest you back up all the stuff on the Linux partition before you attempt to do this, as the bootloaders for Windows and Linux OSes notoriously don't get along. Smilie

Notoriously Microsoft installations don't get along with other OS' period!

I would say, have your linux bootable CD / DVD handy to fix the partition table after the Windows installer overwrites it.

My ultimate suggestion would be to stick with XP! It's stable (as MS OS's go -- oops, slip of the tongue) Smilie

Precisely, and besides dual-booting is so 20th century. VM one of those systems, and if you are not die-hard linux then I'd suggest you virtualize it.

Great point.

VM the linux. Then you have the best of both worlds - running at the same time.
