What i ve knew tell know about UNIX* Alikes.
BSD'S / Linux / Comm. UNIX* <Solaris/SCO/HP-UX>
All Of them are UNIX Flavors or Alikes!
Where is The Operating System That is Called UNIX*
or UNIX* is just a standrd that's when some vendor makes a OS and calles it UNIX,must keep up with UNIX* Standrd?

Yes, UNIX is not a product, per se. The Open Group uses UNIX as a 'certification mark' that certifies compliance with their criteria.

Most others, not so interested in these issues, say UNIX is now a generic term that describes a generic operating environment.

We are not here to judge .... just to Q&A the technical issues. however, if you ask me, UNIX is both a certification mark and a generic pre-emptive multitasking operating environment.

UNIX is not a product that is " traded", as is similar marks (like SONY VAIO) are typically used as a trademark.

UNIX problem? Unix programm runs windows 2000 CPU over 100%

Okee problems...!! What is happening: Unix server with some programms, workstations are windows 2000, the workstations work good but when you start a programm on the Unix server the CPU of the workstations go to 100% usage resulting that the system gets very slow.
