Is there a wayto chmod via ftp for my webpage and change all files and folders from one point down?
There is way too many files and folders in this to do one at a time.
Thanks!

There is no "chmod" in ftp. It will take the system default permissions. The way to change all those files is to ssh/telnet/rlogin to the system as that user and do a chmod on the files. See the man page for chmod and look for the -R option.

Another command that would work is find. You could look for only text files and use the chmod command on those (that way directories/executables won't be changed also).

Actually, chmod has shown up in most ftp clients and servers for unix. But the form is something like this:
chmod 755 file
no wild card allowed. Also, no -R option. If your client does not support it, try:
site chmod 755 file
If your server doesn't support it, you would need a new server.

For some graphical FTP clients you may select multiple files and chmod them in one operation, this is not recursive, though. This should be easier than having to chmod one at a time.
