Aliases In Unix
Hi,

I am new to Unix. I want to know how to setup aliases in Unix. Mean if i write a particular word say scripts then it should take me to scripts directory.

Kindly help.

Append the line alias newcommand='old command' to
shell configuration file bashrc or cshrc depending on type of shell
e:g
alias ls='ls -l'

Always check that you are not going to alias a command by mistake by using the "type" enquiry.
