a simple qestion

what is the cmd for cleaning up temp files or how do i maintance my system
with clean up and optimize it for speed i use mandrake 9.1 linux any help

Seems that your experienced enough to know about the rm command - what exactly are you looking for? Scripts to do clean up automatically?

yes i'm looking for........

i seen a pkg for mac os X that i liked that cleans the var a tmp files and so on like a janitor cleans up any unneccery files that i don;t need and all so i seen a optimizer fro os X i liked is such a thing in linux i use my gradparents bsd 4.5 system when i'm not home but when i'm home i use mandrake and a new distro morphix very cool by the way a live boot cd made for 3d gamers any help on pkgs would help big thanx

Take a look at cleaning up your /tmp - should give you a start although you should check that you need this - according to this message it looks like most tmp files should be in HOME.
