Here's a way of using the keywords - for, in, do, done and echo to run the commands - ps, who, finger, date.

Code:
#!/bin/bash
n=0;
for i in ps who finger date; do
  ((n++));
  if [ "$n" -eq 1 ]; then
    echo "$n - Now running ps"
  elif [ "$n" -eq 2 ]; then
    echo "$n - Now running who"
  elif [ "$n" -eq 3 ]; then
    echo "$n - Now running finger"
  else
    echo "$n - Now running date"
  fi
  $i;
done

I kind of feel that what you are looking for is a script that will prompt the use to enter a key stroke to see different o/ps as per the user choice. The different o/p are for date, who, ps, finger etc. Is this something you are looking for..?
In short, you wanted to implement a switch case statement?

Possibly...I know what I want, I'm trying to explain it. I want to write the for statement in the same format as durden just did it above.
