hey all, heres my problem, i need to be able to telnet into my computer form m buddies house over the upcomming week, but i cant seem to set up my computer to allow me to telnet in..... ill include a few files that i think are neccisary for this ( correct me if im wrong)

and ive also removed my hosts.allow and hosts.deny files...... im aware of the security risks:P but its aoky

You don't mention your OS and version.

Have you checked /etc/services? Make sure telnet isn't commented out there.

Also, telnet to localhost (127.0.0.1) on your system to insure telnet is working before looking at your buddy's system. I would also put his IP into your /etc/hosts.allow instead of leaving your system wide open.

i know its abig security nono... but i really dont have anything on my computer aside fro ma few tunes, and a couple videos... so its all good if someone wants to attack me:P ill look at services now
