Are you running Solaris on a SUN server or on a pc ?

Suggestions:

Load the Recommended and Security Patches for your version. If you are running on a pc, then you want the version followed by X86.

Then read some of these:

Installing and securing Solaris
Securing Solaris - a checklist
Securing Solaris

If you do a search for "secure solaris" you will find plenty more.
Then do a search for hacking solaris - find out how the folks that may be trying to get into your box are looking to get in.

Make sure you check out any security issues with applications such as DNS, NIS, Sendmail, Apache,... that you want to run. And if you don't need it, don't run it. Close off services that you don't use. Things like Sendmail don't need to be running to send email out from the server - only to receive. If you don't need it, don't run it.
